Let us write a label above our outfits in our wardrobes please.. or if you don't want to do that then below the outfit would be fine too.

You can always put a runestone with short description or a piece of paper.

So that label should move with the clothing set, or how should this work?

If You actually use your wardrobe, You should have no trouble remembering where and what You put yourself. In case of villages, it would make sense to make labels to everything like even study desks, not only wardrobes which might be shared. Also it's not a makeshift solution but a solution that already exist and I know few people who use it and doesn't not complain.

Persistently recognizing which objects are which would be cool. All kinds of labeling could be done to improve many people's gaming experience if loftar gave us some unique ids about objects that dont change.

You do know that you can preview a certain set by CTRL + Left clicking it, right?

This.

Plus there is enough variety these days so you can make them distinctive by using a hat for each possible role (as they have no inherent bonus anymore you can gild them to your liking).

Yup, I have written signs, display signs and runestones variously as labels for items around the village, problem with wardrobes is that you can fit three outfits in each so leaving a sign outside the wardrobe doesn't work very well. It's only a few extra seconds to check which outfit is which, but it is annoying.

No, just an option to write text above the space in the wardrobe.
