Hunting Change: Animal Speed Scales with HP

Well, the idea is basically the same as the title. This would help end the cancer of animals running away at mach speed the second you drop them into flee range. Like, have you tried killing a horse? If you don't one-shot him he's 3 mini maps before your next attack is even ready.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

Reasonable idea.

Should it be similar for hearthlings for a streamlined implementation?

I don't think so, speed changes to players should be handled with care. Getting slowed would just allow you to get mobbed up and downed instantly.

that's a terrible idea.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

That just makes them auto-catches, doe, as they only flee when low on HP. You can track and corner them.

Why not just allow people to hunt with bows again? Much more realistic than punching animals to death on a horse. If you could actually use bows, then the animal fleeing and tracking turns into a good mechanic, because you track it down, then have to take a long shot before it re-aggros and runs away again.
