Partially Built

So I keep building into a structure and it a sign with a ring. Next I see the building magically pop up. I think it would be cool to have buildings, like stone towers and ect have partially built phases added to them. So as you build the object, the building changes to partially built. This would allow for some cool ruins features and also a better indicator how close it is to completion from a distance and add some interesting simple effect into the long boring hammering a sign post.

It'd be cool to have different stages of construction. But I think they probably wouldn't consider anything until they've got their new custom buildings thing-a-ma-bob pushed.
Pretty good chance we'll get it eventually, but I think they're done with new buildings until they figure out how they want to do that.

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

That'd be sweet, and I'm sure it could be done one way or the other, albeit requiring some work. The effect would need to be generated, rather than handmade, for it to be feasible.
