optional ingredients

let us get a few new options that appear as pictures next to the word "input" lets take apple pies for example and assume that cinnamon is added to the game. the picture of cinnamon has an indicator like a yellow ring around it to show that its optional and it starts greyed out. left clicking it would color it in and turn the ring green showing that you will now use said ingredient. using it would add more FEPs to whatever food you're making, in this case more con feps to the apple pie.

this would be an easy way to beef up underused recipes. and even allow for alternative recipes. like red pigment for example. if roses were added to the game, you would have to click poppies or roses to be used. and if both are used you simply get more dye.

Well if it is gonna be only one kind of an item (like cinnamon here and nothing else) then why not just be able to directly apply cinnamon to an already made product? Opposition to pepper maybe?

I really like this concept, especially for some stuff like salads and maybe fish recipes. Bonus ingredients add additional/different FEPs, or energy.

Wouldn't mind per se, but it's a bit of work, and I'm not sure how much I want it.

Honestly I've been wanting a more diverse/involved cooking process for a long time, and this sounds like the foundation of a good one. I love that ingredients now matter to certain recipes, and would like to see that expanded upon for things like herbs and seasonings.

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
