trophy

a wooden board, some linseed oil, some silver nuggets for the writing and 2-3 gold bars for the trophy itself.

its a new curio, one thats so expensive to make and so good that its actually worth winning some community hosted event to get it.

suggest some more materials that can go into its creation i dont believe what i listed was enough.

Maybe create an item that is like "A challange" and link it to another item the "Reward", which is a curiosity. Players should be able to subscribe to the challenge, using something as fee ( experience? LP?). Each unique subscription should increase the total or amount of LP.

Example:

Trophy q10 -> 5 000 LP, 20 hours.

For each subscription: Payment = 50% total base LP. ( 2 500 for our example )

If 10 players subscribe to the challenge, then the final item LP should be 60 000, for 20 hours.

The item should be based on wood or metal but with some "differences":

Wood = 5 000
Soft metal = 7 500
Hard metal = 10 000
Bronze= 15 000
Steel = 25 000
Silver = 35 000
Gold = 50 000

Quality should increase the base LP aswell.

I do enjoy both ideas for sure.

Id think the trophy would need to be worth more gold bars tho, as it then increases the rarity of the item and its worth. Would also considering allowing it to be engraved like a runestone.

As to the challenge idea, I also like the idea, though id suspect it would need some sort of penalty to offset the reward for failure. Not just a lp sink something more detrimental. Fucking blood magic, take a nasty wound lol, idk. Always enjoyed a severe penalty for failure, but a worthy reward. Makes you feel good about completing a task.

of course quality would increase the base LP and im not opposed to different trophies with different materials.

but i am FULLY OPPOSED to the must craft other items bit of your suggestion. the idea behind the trophy was that it would have enough monetary worth to justify it being given out as rewards for shoeball and fighting tournaments.

in fact i originally thought that the creator of the trophy shouldnt be able to study it, but the existence of alts made me not post that bit as it would be pointless.

I quite agree with you about the part that the creator of the trophy shouldn't be able to study it. But I can't think in a "clear" mechanic to do it, rather just be a "trash" base LP that didn't worth to study if none subscribe. My suggestion for another item to "subscribe" is for 3 reasons:

1º: People who subscribe on the challenge would not be able to steal the trophy;
2º: I guess it's a clear mechanic: The challenge host would link the trophy to the "challenge" workstation, players could just right click on the "challenge" workstation to subscribe.
3º: It would be able to the creator of the worstation and the trophy to steal the trophy, what is quite of fun.

If you figure out another solution that "keep" this 3 reasons I would be really happier, but I couldn't think yet.

But even my suggestion is quite easy to exploit. One could just craft the trophy with an alt, subscribe with another 30 alts and your main, give the trophy to your main. Doing this would be like just "increase" the number of study slots of your main character, since the payment to increase the trophy LP would be paying LP, you are just "transporting" lp from your alts to your main ;/

We need to think more.

And what you all think about only the king of one realm could "link" the trophy with the "Challenge" station, using authority to link them ?

don't increase the trophies LP gain based on the number of "subscribers" and there you go. the problem you created is solved.

But now we have the trouble of "a really good curiosity that 'anyone' can create". No?

no its not a problem. the value of a curiosity should depend on what goes in it. and this one takes GOLD AND SILVER. it SHOULD be damn good.

I like that.
