Rare forms for more foragable curiosities

Postby Fierce_Deity » Tue Apr 10, 2018 3:00 am

As a way to give foraging a boost, more rare forms of foragables could be added. Things in line with the four leaf clover, and dewy mantles. These items could have varying degrees of rarity depending on how powerful they are. Glimmermoss could be a Shining Moss, dandelion could turn out to be a...daisy, bloated bolete could be bursting bolete. Those are the sort of things I had in mind. Chiming bluebell to Clamoring Bluebell, Royal Toadstool could have a chance to be a bastard toadstool. None of these rarer forms should be able to be grown. It also would be neat if some of them were time gated like the dewy mantle, or at least had an increased chance of being found during a certain time. Like a rare chance to find a withered mantle around noon. Non-curiosity foragbebles should be brought into the fun as well, with some medicinal plants having a rare curio form, or being better at healing.

Yes please. I love this stuff. And the additional complexity such as time gating is a nice feature too, could be fun to see it elsewhere.

I think it would be interesting to have some hidden lore concerning curiosities and other items. Everything now is on the wiki, and you don't need to spend too much time to find out something. Stuff influenced by moon phase, biome, growth nodes, could add some flavour to the game.

More variance related to time, rarity and seasonality is always nice.
