Changing perms on pclaims trough the bond

Postby Ashanorath » Wed Apr 18, 2018 7:47 pm

So idea is simple, how about instead of having to walk to the actual stake claim every time we want to change perms for specific color if we had an option to change them trough the bond itself.
I was thinking of an addition on wheel menu when we right click bond called "manage permissions" or something like that.
Ofcourse it should require the hearthling to actually own the claim and not just get his hands on the bond.

I think it would be a nice QoL change for some people who own quite a few claims and would save quite a bit of time traveling around if we want to quickly adjust our perms for whatever reason.

I find it reasonable that you have to be on the claim to be able to manage it, being able to manage permissions from the other side of the world shouldn't be a thing.

But why should one own more than one claim? Especially in different locations far apART.

Make a claim, never go back to it after first visit. No. I agree it's QoL but it's QoL in bad way.

Why restrict claims to only one? A person can own property anywhere, so why make an artificial restriction like this? It was a great change from legacy, and don't want to see it go back.

I can't see how Granger's suggestion can be anything other than good.

I like the original idea, too, but I think it's a bit too powerful in being able to manage claims clear across the game world. Maybe add a cost to it in presence for doing so, like replacing the bond?

why not? for instance you could have a network of claims over quest trees/rocks to keep them safe.
or claim different entrances to a cave system that connects to your base on lv1 or perhaps high q clay node.
make an outpost far away that's connected to the local quest trees at that location.

I guess I might be looking at it from my own perspective cause I do own quite a few claims myself and know ppl who have way more than I do and tbh 99% of the time it's visit once after initial 8h, set perms and forget about them. Don't really see way to abuse the ability except like, uhm, letting someone in then changing perms to trap him maybe, but that's a highly unlikely scenario. Also, do note that village perms can be changed from any distance. Not mentioning realm ones cause those aren't really important in this scenario (no shield/visitor).

And to be fair for most if not all people using it it would just save a minute or two of walking or a road trip or two if they forgot to set perms properly or want to change them or maybe make new group with different set of perms.

Simply reserve 1-3 colors and on each claim always set up the same priviliges to such claim and later just change the kin's color and Here You go. No need of that.

that's the usual idea but at times it's needed to have same color have different perms on different claims.

well, was an idea, guess I'll stick back to porting around and manually clicking stakes if changes are needed. Just a minor inconvenience anyway.
