Clearing Vines and Tangled Relics

Postby Lunarius_Haberdash » Wed May 02, 2018 4:17 am

Now that we have a method of decaying paved tiles (Hell yes finally!), I would love to see an option to rip up the vines off of tiles that are decaying with a (very) small chance of pulling up a curiosity called a "Tangled Relic" with flavor text of "Wrapped in vines and sodden earth, a hidden relic of the hearth."

Doesn't need to be a great curio, and it's probably too much to ask for that it be something that was dropped on the ground to decay in the area in some age past converted to a curio.

Why does it have to have a "very small chance"? I imagine it would be only the nabs clearing the tiles late into the game when the first batch of settlements start decaying. Therefore, it should be more rewarding.

Yeah, we contemplated that ourselves. Will fix.

Wouldn't that incentivise people to go out and clear the vines from the paved ground of abandoned plots, when the very purpose of vines being that there wouldn't be paved ground everywhere?

only if this new curio could compare to what we can create already. otherwise people won't bother.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.

Good point that.

No, it isn't.
You just need an unclaimed area that you setup with a pattern that gives each paved tile a natural neighbour to get plenty of vines and run a script that destroys them.
It would be quite easy to farm this on a massive scale at any point in time, thus it would be done.
