Hookah pipe decay outside

Can the hookah pipe not decay so rapidly outdoors? Its been like 36 hours since i built it and its showing down to 50% (amber client) damage and needs repairing. We built a small aesthetic area for the pipe to look good in and many places have outdoor smoking areas for these pipes IRL, the pipe as a standalone unit appears to offer no benefit to smoking over using a pipe (with the exception of double smoking when you have a "get crazy high" quest), especially with opium since you have to constantly stop every time a dragon spawns if you're wanting to catch it so its only 'real' use is to look good, which a lot of builds will probably want the option of being able to use it outdoors.

Use an alt to grab the dragon?

Only the character smoking can see them. Which is cool, because it adds drug-induced behavior as onlookers see someone sprinting around erratically on a horse, chasing after nothing.
