Some chat QoL

Today I spent a couple of hours fishing with a primitive casting rod and being the social hearthling I am, chatting with my friends and fellow villagers. Now anyone that has tried this before can tell you it is pure hell with every bite on the hook suddenly cancelling the chat window, forcing you to stop fishing to type a complete sentence. This issue isn't isolated to fishing either, a sudden party invite or bandy often makes me open up a crafting recipe or activate/deactivate the toggles...
Could you please make it so that the chat window takes precedence while being used?

Another thing that has been bothering me is when I'm typing while travelling across a kingdom border the chat switches to that kingdom chat midsentence and being a fairly fast typer I often send the last half of a conversation into the kingdom chat. Solving the former issue I had pobably fixes this too.

Lastly, when clicking "chat" in your kinlist, could you please make it so you can start typing directly? I have renamed too many of my friends by forgetting that crucial click after opening the chat window .

This bothers me as well. Not only when fishing, but when someone PMs me (and I type the rest of the sentence I was writing in the new chat). Also I've lost count of how many times I've navigated the menu shortcuts while trying to say something - are there that many people that use the menu keyboard shortcuts?

I do find this situation annoying, but I do use the keyboard shortcuts to navigate the menus, a lot.

I'm not the only one who ignores the whole shortcut system. With Amber's search funcion (shift+S) and all the hotkey bars, I only navigate through menus manually clicking on the buttons.

i use the menu shortcuts quite frequently for accessing things like swimming(ATS) and what not, though i couldnt tell you how to make a clay pot or something from it.

This has been a major annoyance to me for YEARS.... Just so you know, especially to us 2 finger typers, who still need to look down when typing... I know Jorb probably gets a big kick out of it (lol) but, how many times have I accidentally Hearthed home when typing. grr

I'm often worried that I don't have my cursor on chat field and button-smash myself into using unnecessary Hearth Magic and waste thousands of Experience Points.
