Being credited the kill from animals bleeding to death

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but I had a quest to kill a mammoth and the mammoth bled to death while I was chasing it. It didn't credit me the kill for the quest, so I'm assuming that animals dying this way also don't apply the +10% ql bonus from the Strider credo. If an animals bleeds to death while it's in combat with you and you were the last person that dealt damage to it, the kill should be given to you.
