Remove resource event quests from mystic.

So whenever i bring this up with people on realm chat or discord its the same response "just abandon those quests", which in my case apparently isn't a viable option. "Experience ancient wind throw", abandon, next quest? "Experience ancient wind throw".

And with every other quest I've had being experience a natural resource the progress is just impossible to make on it. With no indication of how long you have until you can even experience the event again this entire credo is just not fun at all. I've spent 2 weeks checking the same roots over and over again trying to get the experience event before i finally gave up and abandoned 2 quests just to get to one that isn't to experience a resource event. No abandoning those quests would require you to spend upwards of 3 months to complete the credo depending on how many quests you've got per level.

The rewards for mystic are not worth the time it takes to achieve with these quests. I'd suggest either removing them or change them to just "see a local resource", the fact that the general census is to just abandon those quests too should be clear indication that they are not a good idea.

So it is a viable option, because that's what many others have done in the past successfully. Sometimes you get unlucky and have to abandon several times in a row, but so long as that type of quest is not the majority you'll eventually make progress.

But I think this whole conversation about the metagame tactic of abandoning a certain type of inconvenient quest is definitely an indication of a problem. I'm talking about you, taming quests.

People who are stubborn enough to refuse abandoning a quest that is holding them back on a credo for a long time probably shouldn't be punished but rewarded. Sure they don't complete the credo as quick as people who rush through the credo quest meta game do, but maybe some of these particularly frustrating individual quests could also give a nice reward or something to make up for it?

If the reward was worthwhile to actually make up for it maybe, but even then it would have to be something pretty significant to trust holding on to a quest for 2+ weeks. Even taming an animal doesn't take as long as mystic's "local resource event" quests do though. Also confirming that the way to go for most is to abandon those quests is further indication of a problem with those quests existing in the first place?

I wouldn't mind it as much if there were 2 options for the quest

Either get the lore experience or harvest the material from the resource. A lot of people I've talked to have gotten stuck for long periods of time on those experience quests

I like this too. Obtaining the resource is a thing you can plan for as opposed to the different strategies people have of triggering XP events. Multiple ways to complete a particular credo quest level.

Yeah I agree, that would definitely make for a much better option. Even if you don't have control of a resource of friends who do, you can know exactly when its going to refresh by inspecting it.

I'm also in agreement, I was stuck on mystic for the longest time, in fact I only completed it by getting the treasure from the bat cave. The credo is not worth the effort, time and frustration as it stands atm imho.

-1. They are working fine. Credos shouldn't be easy.

Yeah, I don't agree with that. If there's some game to be had in abandoning and optimizing your course through the credo, I think that's just fine.

I don't mind them being hard or having to abandon some quests, I've gotten used to it now, but mystic is truly a nightmare ... even though you said you sailed through it, which I think is probably because you cheated. :P :)
