Game Dev. Critique: World Pace

Haven & Hearth world starts are always exciting because you have the balance between the tension and release/idleness when you do not have to worry much about catching up. I have been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance which became boring quite soon for the same reasons. In Hafen, you start quickly, wait for the mass planting, build your bases and participate in industry/trade races, hunt for resources and actively engage in politics. Afterwards, when all the stages are reached, the game leaves you with nothing but maintaining what you have (which consumes more of your time in unfun way) and checking for siege engines from time to time. You may also go for double claims and you are sorted. Then... it's basically time to quit. The game takes more of your attention further into the world, while the level of fun you get gets less and less.

Instead of implementing new content that is accessible for everyone at any time, IMHO, the devs should work towards addressing the tension/release issue of the game. Fixing FEPs or stats gains would do little when people have to constantly pay attention to the game without anything to look forward to. Here is just an example how it could work:

Sounds good other than jorb and loftar want a permanent world.
Seasons to switch things up will be great I hope they work similar to what is in your post.

Just so I understand this correctly:
You want to be able to continue to bot titans. But you are also disappointed that when you do this gameplay becomes meaningless.

So, your solution is that the devs create endgame content specifically to cater to and challenge your bot-fed characters...

You want the devs to spend development time creating world bosses, dragons, special credos and tools, and you also want special recipes that will only be available to titans so you can monopolize them on markets.

You also want the ability to force world resets when you get bored.

Horrible idea for everyone but botters. Great idea for botters. Is your resident coder considering releasing the DIS botting client and codebase again to try to force gameplay changes? Is this a last ditch effort to get him to hold off?

Botters do not exist anymore. You may wanna bot farming (publicly accessible) and oven/smelter fueling (also public), but apart from that - you are much more efficient doing everything in 1-2 windows on your own.

Secondly, solo hermits always complain about the contents being skipped/unavailable/too little and etc. You can never produce enough content to fulfil their hunger since their existence in the game is all about consuming the content (that is always accessible at any given point). On the other hand, factions create the content themselves. And organizing in groups, doing stuff together and etc. has always been the next logical step to access more fun. People do this in any other MMO's, why Hafen should be any different? Just because of some people that have their own little world and incapable of creating meaningful before pissing someone strong enough to smash them?

I think, there are no bigger civilizations since all the content you would wanna access is always available at any point. You have no need to actually join anyone and no-one really wants you either, since they have enough folk to fulfil their needs. Kingdoms were kind of good start (poorly executed in some places). When you get too many allies/warriors you just do not need to look for the new ones and people start bitching about each other and getting on each other's throats. Not to mention engaging with even more people. You have seen NK being destroyed by their own allies for this reason.

What could you do to make the game more fun for the little folks? Artificially make their products more buyable - oki, introduce stat caps - fine, remove bots - alright. In the end, they will still be unsatisfied because they cannot affect the global world. You cannot become a faction or superpower just out of nowhere. You cannot make the nabs/little villages more valuable by just nerf-nerfing things. Almost all factions that started this world have a few-worlds long bloodline (experienced players leaving factions and forming their own). The only one that formed out of nowhere was Rlyeh and it never could take off.

Maybe instead of a literal new world there could be a worldwide catastrophe/apocalypse of some sort instead. Ice age? Meteor impact? "The world is burned by dragonfire"? Plague?

instead of killing the dragon there should be 2 immortal creatures lets say something like balrog that comes from the depths of the caves and smough that lives on the highst mountain in a chamber filled with gold. defeating said immortal creatures gives you control over it only way for the other side to take back control over the immortal creature is to also defeat it in a fight. this would be better instead of killing the creature for a 1 time thing.
