Wilderness beacons are pretty cool looking, but unfortunately, they only last an hour while burning before they disappear. It would be pretty cool that if the player inputted nothing when they lit the beacon, the beacon wouldn't be usable as a new-character spawnpoint, but it wouldn't decay after an hour. The beacons do have variable materials after all.
