Energy Supliment

So one things that often comes up with characters just leaving the 'spruce cap' stage of character development is needing lots of energy but not wating to gain FEPs in stats they don't need as well as not wanting to lower satiations that they DO need.

The Spindly Taproot grants 100 energy only filling 1 hunger and satiates nothing and gives no fep.

I think that hearthlings should be able to use a boiling caldron to extract the enegry restoring properties from tap roots.

5 spindly taproots, .5 liters of water, stored in a clay jar gives you Energy Supplement which can be 'eaten' for 750-1,000 energy only 1 hunger, no satiation and no FEPs. Whatever we think is balanced. A Hearthling would need the Plant Lore to know how to do this.

The problem is that you're clearly past the "spruce cap" stage when you have generated enough LP and spent time to build a cauldron... at least of needing to restore that early energy deficit of a starting character.

Not a bad idea overall, just saying it probably doesn't meet the intended goal.

This is one of the few things where Salem can be argued to be possibly superior to HnH. You can eat anything to restore your Humours without ruining your hunger bar, Humours are increased with separate Gluttony system that is limited by cooldown that depends on foods Gluttonied.

Haven equivalent would be that eating food without table only gives Energy (no FEP gain or hunger filled) but I wouldn't necessarily advocate for it. In early game it's practical to forage around and eat as you collect stuff.

One workaround with current mechanics would be to add more early-game available foods with low hunger/FEP and high energy.

Make usage of kuksa maybe?

Like crafting recipe for some water, 4 spindly taproots and requirement of stone axe. Fluid cannot be storaged in anything else than kuksa and drinking / eating it restores 50% stamina of regular 10Q water and some energy based on Q of it. Like 0.4 * 31Q = 124% per sip or something like that dunno. wanted to share this.

Make it a 'liquid' Interesting.

Perhaps it does not need plant lore and cauldron, perhaps it just needs water and 'maybe' a campfire?

Alternatively a 'gorge' option that would restore energy but give no FEPs or satiation. Which makes sense because you're not savoring the food but I feel like it should still give a bit of hunger

tons of food already with a good ratio energy / hunger probably introduced especially for that. ( I've added some with average energy / hunger but with very good fep/hunger)
It's not that there isn't enough content , it's just that the players are terrible or just lazy.

Energy supliment is a good thing for workers or fighters, but really, there are too many food with high energy gain, and no need to create another one.
The really easiest energy food - butter porrige. It gives 1000 energy, requires 30 seeds and fat/butter

There are indeed tons and tons of high energy foods when you have every discovery and can make anything. The idea behind this suggestion is to make it be so that people do not feel the need to create slave alts to get to that point.
