Yeah, I actually thought the same ... esp if kept in caves where it's colder anyway. +1

Try to put any metal container outside exposed to sunlight and check if you can store any ice there for longer than 1 minute :P

It would be neat if snow and compresses didn't decay in those cabins placed in cellars or caves. And why not making also some ice-cream? Snow + sweetener + fruit. They have been around since the ancient Greeks, from what I read around.

Not sure what the reasoning behind this is. If anything, metal cabinets sound like they would be the worst insulating containers in the entire game.

People probably just think that they look like refrigerators. While ice has been harvested and kept in insulated spaces/buildings up to summer months for thousands of years, only rich could afford it. Only during early 19th century did large-scale harvesting and transportation of ice become feasible. Dropped price of ice enabled common people to use insulated wooden cabinets with blocks of ice to keep dairy, fish and meat cool.

I just figured if metal was cold, such as in the caves, it would work ... but tbh idk ... guesswork, lol.

I just want to keep snow and the compresses longer than one day. :)

I roleplay it being a fridge already. We keep beer inside it.
