If i may be so bold, snow is very difficult to get far from mountains and lasts only twelve hours. This is particularly frustrating because when you need it for a cold compress you are usually injured and don't want to try getting around a bunch of hostile mountain animals. Therefore i suggest a new container, icebox, in it snow and cold compresses will decay much slower taking roughly a week to fade away. I suggest requiring felt for the insulation material and planks for the rest..... and maybe some beeswax to seal any gaps. This means it will take noticeable effort to make an ice box but it is now possible to keep snow around long enough to be more useful in treating wounds. I currently have a concussion of over 120 and because my snow keeps melting i have none left to make a cold compress from. since that, opium, and ancient roots are all that can help with concussions besides waiting it would be nice if it was an option to keep snow around for medicinal purposes.
