Buff shield maneuver

Shield up currently gets no use because parry and oak stance are simply much better in terms of offense and defense

The extra defensive weight is nice, but the fact that openings don't tick downwards slightly when attacked (like oak stance) means that parry is the better alternative if you are deciding to go MC-based. And at that point, there is no reason to wear a shield.

Sword damage is currently much worse than the 2 handed weapons, and so I feel that shield stance could be given the same defensive traits as oak stance, only without the weight reduction on attacks. If this change was made, high-MC with low-UA builds would be much more viable in PVP and PVE.

Right now it is not worth camping shield stance, but if it was made more tanky in the way I'm suggesting, I could see the play-style catching on again.

i guess it depends on your stats and what you're fighting against

on my mediocre stats and pve fights MC and Shield is probably still best unless you decide to leave mediocre zone, but that's crazy work

Sounds good.
On top of this I'd like to see parry opening red if your sword is in the offhand slot and blue if its in the main hand.

Red parry made pairing with KITO and cleave a little too easy IMO
The blue change brought it within reason.

I would however like to see the AGI bonus of the wrought iron sword be applied to your handhand sword if you're offhanding the wrought sword. Atm the AGI bonus only applies when using an MC attack with the wrought sword itself and that sword's dmg is beyond bad

It could be yellow then I don't think that breaks anything other than making parry better for groups.

I can see this breaking or changing combat completely. I know MC isn't useful in current combat but granting them the same stats as Oak Stance (Removing While Oak Stance is active, all your attacks will have 50% of their normal attack weight) will mean that most if not everyone will switch to MC.

Looks take a look:

The weapons with the most armor pen are one handed weapons.

The Woodsman's Axe and Butcher's Cleaver both grant extra 20% Armor Penetration (10 more percent than a b12 but less damage).

The Woodsman's Axe deals 10 more base damage than the cleaver so I see it being used more, and it's also considered an axe.

I envision people running around with the cleaver or axe just spam cleaving some person till they get dropped.

Cleave also gives an additional 150% to the damage you deal.

Diversity in weapons isn't a bad thing imo, and people spam raven's bite with a b12 as it is so what really changes? An additional 10% armor pen by sacrificing thousands of dmg sounds fine to me

Raven's bite takes less IP than cleave and as it's used right now (with b12s) it does more dmg than if it were being used with a woodsman's axe

It isnt right to compare UA and MC maneurs, when mostly of people builded for UA.
I have PvE MC build, and i completely understand that if i will use shield up - i will be deffed just like i have mutch more stats then i really do?
Same for pvp, if you have 5000 MC, and opponent have 5000 UA - he will be deffed from you with like 7500 stats, you will be deffed like 12500 stats. I think it's pretty good tank build.

afaik diminishing returns affects mc/ua in combat, right? sqrt of 5k is 70 while 7.5k is 86. so it increases defenses by about 22%, someone tell me if i'm wrong as i'm not heavy into combat

thats why shield maneuver is great early game while not in lategame
