Peppermill doesn't mill jack

Postby LtTurtleshot » Wed Jul 04, 2018 3:40 pm

It used to hold like 200 dried pepper drupes and used 5 drupes to boost your food. So now the mill is only used as a symbel item.

Any plans on making it able to hold drupes to create black pepper in a pinch? Just like in real life you know.

Yes, please fix, jorb. Why did you completely overlook this? The mill was such a hug QoL convenience being able to store pepper on the table and use the mill on food and put it back down in legacy.

Same kind of held true for wineglasses, but there were always better symbel items.

@LtTurtleshot: your gif is giving me seizures...

(Think this was brought up before, but it's been a while and just poking head into forums a few minutes at the moment, and a quick search either doesn't find it, or it's buried in 20 pages of hits.)

You can put ground pepper into the shaker and mill, but you HAVE to quern it first. You can't put it in the windmill either. Please do something about it? Either make it windmill millable or peppermill millable or both.

I had to double check the pepper rules from legacy to make sure I had it right, but the peppermill used 10x pepper, but came out at the same Q. Using a quern only took 5x, but halved the quality. Worth noting the wiki reported using the quern as 41% more efficient.

At some point, I recall doing both, but wanting the higher quality pepper from the mill on occasion, and using the ground stuff for most things. I think it was for PSY increases on my crafter since there were no good PSY foods at high Q.
