QoL/Polishing

When in "building mode", or placing stockpiles, "placing stuff mode", detach the mouse cursor from the char movement to allow an easier placement while walking around.

You can hold ctrl to move while placing a milestone. For some reason it doesn't work for stockpile and other buildings though.

I mean, when you are walking around, and want to place something while walking, that object now will move with the camera .... instead would be better to have it detached from the camera, for a better placement and less frustration, I don't think there are any drawbacks.

No thanks, I move while deciding where to place buildings pretty much all the time I'm building.

I can see the benefits. I think perhaps a command to allow both would be a good alternative.

Why you need ghost images for building/placing stuff to move with the camera when walking?

Well, I want it to move with me if I decide I don't like it there silly... Besides the other poster stated that he moves pretty much all the time while placing buildings... Perhaps there are other reasons I don't see since he didn't specify. Then I can use ctrl+mmb or whatever for fine-tuning and detach to walk around again to see if I like this placement better. I like the idea. I just see benefits to both ways and think that would be ideal.

I don't think the guy above has understood what I mean.

To be clear I use Amber and as of now I can use shift+mmb to spin the object on it's axis, and also, ctrl+ 'move the mouse around' for fine-tune placement of the object. However, If I decide I don't like the object there and want to place it somewhere else entirely, say 15 tiles away, I have to re-grab the object from it's UI location, or use a shortcut key combination, and move my character over there, or drop the object at the new loc and he will auto run to it as long as nothing is in the way which is often the case. This last part is what becomes annoying and what I would like to see a detachment for.

Edit: I did notice your signature which suggests use of the default client, so perhaps it is I who entirely misunderstand your point since I am unable to use the default client without it crashing right away :(

I understand what you mean now that you (sorta) explained it. And I like it how it is and don't want it changed.
