Coin Rework

Postby Mileaos2 » Fri Jul 27, 2018 8:46 am

All numbers are just suggestions, i dont demand exactly those numbers.

Coins shouldnt be produced with the coinpress.
And they cant be smelted back to metal bars.
Money should be an Curio.
Copper, Silver and Gold Coins.

Copper Coins (cc) generate 100LP in 10 minutes with 1 mental Weight.
Silver Coins (sc) generate 1000lp in 1hrs with 3 mental weight.
Gold COins (gc) generate 10000lp in 5hrs with 8 mental weight.

When you have 100 cc, you can merge them to one sc (same with 100 sc to 1 gc)
And you can split 1 gc to 100 sc and 1 sc to 100 cc.

How to get those coins?
Two suggestions:
Quest rewards (instead of direct LP reward)
And through the Study Report.
All coins can be generated, when you add a copper, silver or gold nugget in your Study Report.
Only one nugget per Type at the same Time.
Quality has no effect here.
When you finish studying a curio the nugget gains 10% of the total LP count of the finished curio. (those 10% are additional to the amount you recieve)
When the nugget has collected the needed amount of LP they transform into 10 coins of the same type and get transferred to the inventory.
coins should still stack to 100, but only 1 can be studied at the same time.
So how much LP does a nugget need?
Copper Nugget 1000lp. (100lp per coin)
Silver Nugget 10000lp. (1000lp per coin)
Gold Nugget 100000lp. (10000lp per coin)
iam from germany, so my english isnt perfect, i know ;)

You can easily call it "bark rework"
"Bark shouldn't be collected from trees but be a curio"...
English is neither my native lang, nor my best side...

This is old, obsolete and stupid mechanic from 00's games.
H&H is better here, all items and all curencies have it's own price given by players, like in real worlds economy.
The thing you suggest is worse than current.

The currency system that is available ingame right now is the best one i've seen in any game, no reason to change it up. It works, end of story.

I would like the coins to be inspectable for serial number and minting date.
This would give the 'central bankers' (the one who mints the currency) a risk of being caught minting more of it.

instead of actually adding dates and such. the press could be turned into what is used with banners and such, and someone could literally mint an image on to their coins, which when hovered over the coins, shows you what they are. I feel like thatd be a neat idea, if not mildly larpy. Could add this idea to it, just as US currency has dates on all their coins, the player could apply this option as well, or maybe just the press does it upon stamping the image.
