Credo Quest Solution

Postby Adder1234 » Mon Sep 03, 2018 8:53 am

I was looking at the credo tier map on the wiki and had a thought on how the credo quest and suicide problem could be solved. While I think that simply killing yourself to decrease the number of quests is ridiculous, I also agree that there are too many quests as they are now. The solution that I propose is to have the number of quests per credo determined by the number of requisite credos. For instance, the baseline number would be 2, for the hunter, fisherman and forager credos, then 4, then 6 and so on. That way, you could remove the suicide mechanic entirely.

Mathematically, the number of credo quests would be equal to 2+2n. Where n is equal to the number of requisite credos.

I get that a lot of people won't like this idea for a variety of reasons. I just wanted to put it out there as an option and see what ideas everyone else has.

This exact thing has been suggested already, but it's a good suggestion. Can one of the admins merge this thread so we don't get the conversation too scattered?

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Oh, I never said that the system couldn't be changed mind you. But my logic on that stands, it's intended to be a long-haul game and they hope to have no resets someday. There better be at least 18 months of content available. (I've been playing for a damned long time son, since World 3, so whining about '18 months' doesn't hold much truck with me)

no one is going to commit to the longhaul besides the 70 people who already have

appeal to a larger denominator by not adding dumb content
