Further Meteorite Resources

For my university course, I was looking up how the high temperatures and forces create unique minerals during meteorite impacts and I found a few that could be added to Haven.

Pallasite is a made up of small, brightly colored crystals held in an iron nickel matrix. The crystals can be yellow, orange or even green. It could be used as a high tier curiosity.

Mesosiderite is made up of iron nickel and silicate. It appears, at least before it corrodes, as a dark rock filled with flecks of silver colored material. In fact, it has often been mistaken for pure silver. Could either be another curio, or an ore with a higher smelting chance than regular meteorite.

Impactites refer to minerals created when a meteorite impacts the ground, heating and scattering material. Common impactites are tektites, balls of super heated stone or soil that is tossed into the air by the impact. They are pitch black and very glossy.

The most beautiful impactities are called meteorite glasses, but they only usually form when meteorites land in deserts or on beaches. As the name suggests, they are made from sand that has melted to form glass that is a yellowish color and very clear. Often used in jewellery by ancient people, the most famous example is the yellow Libyan desert glass, some of which decorated Tutankhamun's tomb.

Moldavite is the most rare impactite and even people today claim that it has mystical powers. It is a stunning green crystal that forms in teardrop shapes, though most are covered in fine grooves from weathering. In fact, the only place in the world that they are found today is the Czech Republic, meaning that there has probably only been one meteorite in millions of years to create it.

The first two would be simple to add, as they could just be a rarer material that can be mined from the meteorite itself. But impactites are usually spread around the landing site, so perhaps they could work by adding them to the items that can be dug up in that area. I was hoping that these would make meteorites more interesting.
