Aloe Vera and Burn Wounds.

It would be neat to find Aloe Vera around as a wild plant medicine, as well as the addition of burn wounds from smelting metals or rubbing sticks or cat gold to create fire. It would also be plausible to add it as a potential injury to cooking foods over an open fire. This would add more realism to humans burning themselves as they play with the uncontrollable fire to further themselves. It might even be similar to picking up crabs where wearing gloves gives a large amount of protection against these wounds, as well as cooking characters could make oven mitts.

Aloe Vera is a disgusting plant that does not fit the setting, and also sucks complete and utter ass to remove if your grandmother puts way too goddamn much of it in her yard because she heard too many stories of how aloe vera can do pretty much everything under the sun.

Aloe Vera as a plant is also edible and could be used to make drinks and food items. High quality farmed aloe could be added to water to produce a higher quality variance of water: "Aloe Water".

While nice idea it suffers from the same problem as tomatoes and potatoes: doesn't fit into the regional setting of the game.
