New Troll Type: Gem Trolls

Postby Adder1234 » Mon Sep 10, 2018 1:10 pm

Simple idea: Add a new, rare and valuable troll type that only spawns on lower cave levels, to make mining on lower cave levels more rewarding.

Obviously, a gem troll would be a troll with gems studding their back and shoulders. When skinned, it gives several gems, perhaps of a large size. Only problem I see with this is that the gems will have crazy stats because trolls naturally have high quality. But given the sheer amount of gems I've seen people with, it wouldn't be too game breaking.

Well, unless gems Q doesn't have to be tied to Q of troll... just some random size/quantity of gems from killing such...

Great Idea, but i'd say there should be small gems instead of larges - this will prevent insane stats. Or some sort of new gem at all - like Trollesyt.

Maybe the gem quality could be taken from the quality node for gems on the tile the troll spawned on?

By that I mean, the quality of the trolls gems would be the same as the quality of a gem you would mine normally from the tile the troll spawned on. I don't know if it would be possible to do this though.

Something like this could be neat.

It would need to be numerous Jotuns, which aren't even that valuable.

And numerous Jotuns still don't make level 5 mining worth doing.
