Stacking up barrels

Postby SZklana » Thu Oct 04, 2018 3:00 pm

Hey is possible for devs to make barrels possible to stack up one on another it could help to save some space :D . So u lift up one barrel and right click on another up to maybe 3. U cant ofc take nothing from them unless u unstack them.

or second idea some kind of rack for them

I think that barrel rack has been suggested before. There should be one! Maybe 3 layers or barrels on top of each other or so.

Yep, Barrels, Logs, etc.

I'm also fine with them being accessible in the stack. Sensible for liquids, a little odd for seeds, but meh.

I think we need stockpiled for liftables. For logs and barrels at least!

Pretty bad idea stockpiling objects.
I think game will need to have warehouse type buildings for some types of objects/items.

At least for logs and barrels it works fine, as the pictures above show.

Stockpiles for everything, infinite capacity!

But +1 for racks and logs. While I agree with what jorb says, I also agree that stockpiling stuff towards the heavens should be possible for logs / barrels (racks!), because it's only somewhat natural to put stuff on a stack. Same with buildings, when width ends, height is the answer !

i would not say stockpiles for logs or barrels, but structures. starts off looking like a few boards with notches cut out and will hold x number of specific large items. like only barrels or only logs.

Dude why? Logs and barrels stack naturally in RL, there's no reason we should need a structure to stack them. They should just stack if you right click one on top of another.

because barrels, traditionaly wine, are kept on their side, on a stand that prevents rolling and allows organized stacking.

a stockpile, in game is a collection of like items that does not worry about organization.

thus, a structure that allows the organized storage of logs or barrels seems most fitting. unless you want to pull your logs out of a stockpile one at a time until you find the type of wood you are looking for.
