Animal sizes

Postby overtyped » Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:10 pm

I was thinking of ways to increase the games longevity, so what about animals having a small chance to be much larger, not only that, these monsterous animals will have special names and not despawn. These named animals will not have duplicates until the previous one dies. Having a few elusive beasts that never leave and put fear into your heart can add alot to the game, while costing little.

Where is that big BIG game hunting at?!

This also fits into the slavic, germanic lore thing you got going on here. I want to see Indrik king of beasts and live to tell the tale!

ps: next world i better see a "onep rests here" statue
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I would like this, at some point i would try to trap all of them in the center of my village and keep them as tropes.

i'd hope not. That would just lead to abuse.

hmm could be cool to have some special mobs, giant bear/boar with special moves, boar could have a move where it charges in a direction toppling any tree in its way.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

Perhaps the animals could be big enough where walls and other objects don't obstruct them and they can shoot some sort of projectile if they are shot by someone they can't reach.

i derive pleasure from the idea of making the game tougher. Though not sure this is the idea, especially from a gameplay perspective. Perhaps him just adding the fabled dragons they thought of back in the day would be better. an event similar to the meteor tho. I would like to see terrain destruction with this tho, as forests can now regrow themselves, not sure much harm would come of creatures destroying the terrain.

or perhaps a different creature altogether which can scurry over walls and nab you or your shit you dropped.

Big, very big bears just should have ability to jump over palisade (maybe the biggest ones also a brickfence?). But only if the player is on the other side and there's no other way around.
