But when it comes to the security of a base of nearly 20 people for whom I am responsible for keeping as safe as possible; Any chance at all is a chance that I have to try - by every available means - to eliminate, if I can. "...Soooooooo..........You're saying there's a chance.....?"

Well, if all the locks are gone, I don't care if they crumble or not. My concern is throwing away keys that are no longer used but the locks still exist somewhere (personal plot gates whose previous owners have left the village or quit the game, unnecessary copies, results or copying wrong key accidentally, etc etc)

That's another viable option instead of burning the keys. In fact, I think that even makes more sense. Because, anyone stupid enough to accidentally copy the wrong key (and yes, I have done it more than once) clearly doesnt have as much experience as he thinks he does. Using hearth magic to eliminate the key or discover the location of its lock would reflect that by reducing their exp pts.
Actually, maybe we can have 2 new Hearth magics...
- 1 to destroy the key if we prefer
- and another to locate the lock, only if the lock is within the borders of any pclaim or vclaim where the magic user holds the proper permissions. Because if that spell were usable on any key, any where, it would result in less security, not more.
