Trash Can

now that we have global item pools associated with dirt/water/etc. I think it's time for a trash can to ensure you trash really goes away.

Thematically, it would be nice just to have a bin to throw trash into.
Mechanically, i'd rather toss something into a designated trash can than wait for it to expire on pavement.

perhaps a X by X container that deletes items passively over X time (1-5hrs to ensure not accidentally shitcanning your prized bolete)
perhaps a 1-2 minute active emptying timer to delete shit now, but still long enough to deter wanton griefing with a trash can

Reasonable suggestion, especially as thought was put into preventing dumping a complete village into the dumpster.

I think there will be a point if trash recovering system will have decay, for example organic items will decay fast and never be recovered by fishing/diging.

Iron/rock items must decay very long

Or burning and resmelting items? If its organic it can be burnt in a fire and if it is metal it can be put in a smelter with 90% of slag and 10% chance of... tin... iron? nuggets.

Perhaps to make it harder to throw stuff away on mass trash can only be thrown on a burning bonfire, and only when it is not fully fuelled?

While we're examining this, I think organic items (like meat and such) should simply not go into the recovery pool as they could reasonably be assumed to be consumed by/rotted into/etc the environment. This will prevent massive seed dumps, meat waste, etc from being fished up and limit it to stones, clothing, etc.

Well beside recycling that I think Coles idea with 10q recycled products would be best combined with what LH says somewhat. Like if a piece of meat is thrown into water, it gets a +1 to decay, when it's again thrown 1-2 more times into water, enough decay points removes it completely.

<Item X> needs a stockpile. ¦]

Why? so you can add it to the pile and then smash the pile (or let it decay). These items don't end up in the global pool, right?
