Increasing stat cap idea

Postby Try∞ » Fri Jan 18, 2019 9:39 pm

New world will start so what about an idea that it will start with 100 stat cap and every update the stat cap goes up by a 10 or 100 so other players could catch up and compete in pvp.

Reminds me of WoW level cap. I neither oppose your idea nor support it yet.

The dev's don't plan on adding the stat cap back to the game.

Very bad idea. It will encourage people to quit and comeback once update, especially if those won't be small-bird-week updates.

This idea would just result in people stockpiling food and lp so they don't have to play the game ever again. I guess it'd make food decay purposeful, but I also don't think jorb would have the stat cap raise in a reasonable way.

how so? it's a great idea. because infinite stat cap is only great for single player, since it becomes pointless to catch up with others if you decide to watch new series for 2 weeks and single stat cap is also only good for single player since once you reached it, there's no point of playing.
But increasing stat cap would bring people together into nations fight each other stack up food and stuff for next update and see where will be next level so called finishing line even though there will be many finishing lines and what will it bring.
Since with increasing stat cap it can also bring a possibility with end game content, since with infinite stat cap that is now impposible, since how can you add end game content when the game stats cap is infinite that makes no sense.
Also with every new world the level would reset back to as low as devs would want it to be and with every update they can raise it by how much they want, it doesn't have to be round numbers like 10, 40 or 100 it migth as well be 39, 69 or 88. It's up to them to take on thise great idea and see how it will work out for them and if it fails then they can always go back to their already failing infinite stat cap, since it's only good for bots. Because neither a single number stat cap or infinite stat cap is working. so why not inovate and start new world with increasing stat cap. so players could catch up unite and make pvp more reasonable, rather than a bot with 1000 stats in a month vs a player with 300 stats in a 3 months.

So, if it's a universally accepted great idea why it might fail? :D

So you are saying that if we get two ideas which aren't working and merge together it will be better?

There are problems, but stat caps will not solve them. Instead of fighting with syndromes it's better to fight with the actual causes.

Stat cap is very bad idea, not great one.

Take any survival game where stat caps exist. Once people hit the ceiling of discovering everything in the game and reaching the cap, they quit, marking the game as "completed". Especially You can notice such thing happening with beta tested game called Cryofall. Many players (self included) after discovering all tech TIERs and reaching 100% in all stats, just quit. Only stubborn ones stay for a while to prey upon noobs which isn't even funny.

"inifinite" stats while exist, nobody sane goes overboard, usually only to leave enemies behind a bit to have leverage against them.

And your great idea "forces" developers to push constant updates to rise cap, which is unhealthy, especially if there's no constant updates period.

Also, this world people could catch up because the ceiling was made by players themself.

Infinite stats have the problem of making PvE meaningless, thus they're as bad of an idea as a stat cap.

Adding stronger varations of trolls or "legendary" types of regular animals fix it a bit. Other than that, we have to live with most PvE being just not as strong, that's natural course of things. Sadly or not.
