diving bell

The diving bell is one of the earliest types of equipment for underwater work and exploration. Its use was first described by Aristotle in the 4th century BC: "...they enable the divers to respire equally well by letting down a cauldron, for this does not fill with water, but retains the air, for it is forced straight down into the water.

perhaps q of couldran effects where can dive and an actual diving bell is need for deep ocean

when a ship sinks a wreck on bottom is created near by and you have to search by lowering bell down if can get deep enough and also forageing and whale bones or something also found

res nodes (volcano spouts, coral reefs, ect)

a late game thing prob cause of the extremely slow nature of exploreing ocean it will remain fresh for long time

crazy in the heat of the moment idea

Good idea, but as we know, there is lot of pressure when you go downwards underwater. So the diving bell should be really expensive to make.

If you look at the areas the Greeks lived, they didn't have truly deep oceans, and then they were probably only diving in the shallower parts: deeper than a man could free dive and stay down for more than a minute, not so deep that this would be pointless because there wouldn't be enough air. have to think of the length of the poles needed, too, and the amount of air that would be sent down. Higher the pressure, the smaller the space to suck it out would be, too.

Practical depth of something like this: 50m, maybe? I'm thinking more a means to let oyster divers do their job a bit longer at 10-30m depths instead of having to surface every couple of minutes. Deeper than that and you risk the bends, too. I'm sure there's some further historical information about it. So maybe limit this to the intermediate depths, not the deep deep depths.

Like the idea, though, especially now that we have oceans.
