Now that satiations decay with time we basically have two mechanics doing the exact same thing - timegating stat gain. Why complicate things, let's just cut out hunger altogether. Satiations are better because you can just gobble all the roasted crickets you want for your energy needs and you'll just ruin your Creepies & Crawlies and your real food will be unaffected. No more need for ground leveling alts.
Maybe slow down satiations decay to balance hunger removal. Though there's the problem that this would be a huge buff to alcohol, so there'd need to be more limits on how much you can drink.
