Oceans are nice...

But it seems that it makes an already small world even smaller, the power factions are able to dominate the continents and islands easily and there isn't much space to get away from them.

Idk about that. There are certainly greater distances in it. Could always expand it if that were really a problem.

We're going to add something oceangoing inbetween rowboat and knarr.

You can't really have something irreplaceable about your toon now. Not enough time in my opinion. So if your place is really bad, learn swimming and then inherit.
If on the other hand you got a good toon in a bad place... Then accept the bad place until you make a knarr.
I learned swimming after starting with a gang of virtual friends (they made a beacon for me) and I'm happy I did.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

Longship? Karvi? Snekkja?
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

Well it just seems every major power spawned on one continent, everyone keeps stopping by no matter how far I go.

that sounds lovely. I've always like traveling were no one has ever been before. Seeing the beauty of your world without cut trees, stone ground etc.
If digging was not so hard on energy/hunger the land for me would not be so much of a problem as a hermit. I could find a place on a hillside and make it an interesting project. As a hermit I have to be picky where i place my claim. not to close to a river, other claims or will be hard to level. I do need to be close to a cave, grassland, trees, clay. I finally find my spot after two days of looking.
let us all take a moment remember and honor trisby, the true desident of Tris, who was last seen in all white walking into a river with her beloved sledgehammer in her hands. May she find honor and glory in the next life

Not cool to be honest. Knarrs are an actual investment and you already gave us disposable one time boats this world in the form of runestone-like-crafted-dugouts...

Please do not devalue the ocean travel.

Not everyone wants to drop the time into building a knarr. They are investments, and worth it when made well, but not everyone wants a means to haul all those people and goods.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
