"starter" credo quest difficulty

Postby displaced » Tue Feb 05, 2019 9:27 pm

Hi there,

probably not the first comment in that regard, but as a newbie, thinking it would be a magnificent idea to get a +10 bonus on per*exp early on, seeing the following quest objectives on the first quest:
- Frog's crown to Lubda
- eat green kelp
- stury thorny thisle

is not only frustrating, but rather humiliating to know, that i wasted 10k LP (early on) to something i can't complete untill i have somewhat around 60*60 per*exp.
Yeah... there are definately issues on balancing here.

But's just my 2 cents.

PS: right now i'd want to have my 10k LP back and do it later but that actually don't work too so...
It's rather annoying and making my life more miserable in the game rather than "challenging"

Would be interesting if you either had to do 1000 easy things or 50 medium things or 1 hard thing to complete a stage of a quest

Foraging is a good example
-Pick 1000 Nettles
-Pick 50 candleberries
-Pick 1 Frogs Crown

Or Mining
-Mine 1000 stone
-Mine 50 ore
-Mine 1 Precious Stone

Frog's crown isn't hard. chiming bluebell is hard, but a far cry easier than 1000 nettles if you have the stats to find them.

and if you've found a gem node, not an issue. Save a gem node for your characters looking for gems... boom. Easy.

I agree, my first quest was to pick green kelp.
It is pretty dumb.

They could even go in increasing difficulty instead of just being random.

While yes this is true, it sucks that your character is progression locked because they simply got unlucky

Foraging credo is great early game, but if you're stuck behind something that requires 60*60 and a mountain you're screwed and its probably better off that you just turn that character into a combat alt and try again with another character.

Im not sure if credos are intended to be "early content", and you can abandon the quests and try to get lucky, i got green kelp quest too and went from 3rd bonus to first at 1/2, now im at 5th bonus 1/2, its just random.
Good idea!

You can just abandon, no? Won't it just reset if you're at the lowest level?

If you abondon at the first quest, you have to take the credo again. Spending another 10k lp. One that note Jorb, there is no information in game that pursuing a credo will cost 10k lp.

I got an impossible first quest and had to redo (there isn't a chive biome on the continent I live on).

Maybe make rebuying your first quest cost a % of the original cost instead of the full amount? Could be a little popup giving you the choice.
