Hooks from mussels

We can collect fishing line from cattails.
Soon baits from waterstriders.
But for hooks? Maybe we could make them from mussels?

Then there is no need to exit the water when you are fishing.

Can just bring bones with you and stockpile em nearby. If Jorbtar decides it's fine, it would be a lot more convenient but I'm fine with two out of the three essentials being given by the water

Crabs... you can make them from crabs... but yeah, I get your point. You have to get out of the boat to catch a crab.

This is only something I'd want if it had some sort of mechanical effect. I suppose that would be accomplished by some fish 'preferring' mullosc hooks.

I haven't ever heard of mussels ever being used as hooks. their shells while sharp are very brittle.

however spoiled ones are good bait for mudbug traps
