Cartography

I'm on this again. What if rather than sharing map data wholesale, you could create "Directions" for specific map markers in a similar manner to combat instructions. Right click a parchment on a map entry, and another user can consume it to add that marker to their map.

how would this work?

You get the skill and then you can make maps?
Whats stopping everyone from getting it? Late Credo? that would suck tbh

Even though it would be kind of pointless there are occasions where it would be nice to fill in someone else's map.

I don't even know if it would need to be locked behind a skill, but it was in legacy. Previously when I've suggested this, it was about sharing map tiles and whatever, but I've kind of shifted my focus.

I don't see how it's pointless to have an in-game way to share map markers. For example, I know where a local resource/quality node/dangerous area/etc is, but a neighbour/ally doesn't. Rather than giving them vague directions, I could invest a small amount of resources to have it added directly to their map.

Not like it's a high priority use of dev time, just wanted to present another take on an idea that I'm in favour of.

It makes sense from a gameplay perspective, if it could be implemented it could be great. You could post it on the village board and share the location of stuff with the whole village
https://strawpoll.com/xh2d3zr2 if you give a fuck about mining vote on this. Make mining great again! Bring back old supports.

Not very similar to how the OP wants it, but the implementation may be similar to a wilderness beacon and party member?
For example, set the beacon, which allows you to create a pseudomaps (for example, applying the skin on this beacon). Having a map you can see the direction arrow to this beacon, like a party member?
Excuse me, I don't speak English.
