Profile Details out of date

Hi, I was editing my profile for the forum and noticed that the profile details are very outdated, unless you have a time machine the use of "Yahoo messenger", "MSN Messenger", "AOL Instant Messenger" seems outdated.

Maybe it would be more appropriate to change it to a more modern one, like "Discord username", "Social Media Handle" or something like that? what do you guys think?

MSN takes me back, lot of teenage memories on that platform. Still remember when I finally gave it up because I was the last one using it and half my contacts had become spam bots.

The site works fine with HTTPS and IIRC the game even uses HTTPS connections to retrieve resources? They're just using a self-signed certificate which browsers are being increasingly obnoxious about (to the point where for example Opera not only hides the protocol but also keeps preferring the HTTP URL over the HTTPS one and I have to keep typing it explicitly). It's incredibly dumb how browsers are pushing people to prefer unsecured connections over secured connections that just aren't verified by a central authority.

You definitely have not read loftar's treatise on this.

To summarize what jorbtar said: they're not against it. They're just not for doing it themselves. A volunteer who is dedicated to the game and willing to stick around for the long haul should do this.

As far as those fields, they're completely manageable in the forum software. Yeah, they should probably be updated. IMO, the web has gotten too sociable, and leaves people vulnerable, but I'm that "old guy" now, so get off my lawn, you brats!
