Honestly what is the point of having midges in the game. They serve no purpose other than to give the player undeserved random injuries and are just another unnecessary obstacle for the players to deal with. The only place midges have a purpose are in swamps where they have some function. Why do we have to deal with things like these in order to play the game.

They were meant to punish swamp campers and bots but they are basically just a hilarious and epic 9gag-tier trick implemented to make things just kind of bad and shittier under the guise of challenge or some shit and not let you afk outside your house.

I'm fine with them swarming swamps. Don't let people settle on them so they actually respawn. But there's no reason they should show up in deep forest to bother the hell out of me trying to spitroast a bat.

Like any other game, for example, that does not punish you for using a spitroast, boiling clay cauldron, harvesting/replanting crops or just leveling or paving land.

They are the worst addition to the game and seem to be there the second I step outside or try to do anything which involves being in one spot ... think they are utterly pointless tbh ... except maybe in swamps.
