I don't recall jorb saying they're exclusive one time things, either. You never know. demand might be enough to bring one back. I played Magic for too many years and watched that market bounce all over the place because of the decisions of "we're never bringing this back" to "well, guess we'll bring it back because it fits this expansion." The dealers complained because the card values had some drop, but they started coming back up over time when the new new players wanted the old versions instead of the new ones.

Same could be done with the hats. Could be a v2.0 of the hat that has some subtle changes on it.

Collectors items on video games lose value as soon as you do another run of them. It would serve no other purpose than to act as a cash grab for devs while screwing every player that has been supporting them long enough to have one of those hats.

that's implying that digital content from a niche game had any value to begin with. Also whats wrong with giving the devs more money they have already stated they don't really make that much to begin with.

It's not an implication if the community proves it's a fact. You can easily trade an early hafen hat for hundreds of dollars in tokens/current hats. There's nothing wrong with supporting the game more, that's the purpose of the hats and subscriber system in the first place. But if they expanded the store to contain all hats, I simply wouldn't gold sub because there'd be no reason to.
