Buffs

Postby deflegmator » Tue Feb 19, 2019 6:08 am

Hello. I propose to introduce items that will give buffs, by analogy with wounds or drugs. for example, birch tar is used in Siberia from midges. (it is also used as an insecticide). or from the royal toadstool make a potion
a short-term increase in strength (or mb even rage for a few minutes), followed by a debuff

Bots work the same with or without 20 health points with no penalty. They are not affected.

But if a player is stung by midgets he will avoid bees. And beekeeping was also modified to require bee larvae. And in W10 last month domestic bees stung too.

So midgets are an essential part of a strategy to deny hardened leather to non-botters and to people playing just their main alts. Also, level 1 (caves) contain way rarer ore veins and the veins are 5-10 times smaller than in W10. Therefore, who has no hardened leather for minehole will not get metal. That is the purpose of midgets. They are here to help multiple alts (bots) players and to deter normal players by denying them honey and through that good q crops and metal.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

Why? Two of those aren't a problem on its own. If we are talking a professional beekeeper hes chances of getting bitten by adder or stung by nettle aren't that high...

Not all bot mechanics are worth the trade off of pissing your playerbase off. Leave midges in swamps, get them out of forests. We don't need a mechanic to prevent them if 99% of the issues caused by them vanish. Anyone crazy enough to settle on a swamp A) should leave because swamps are a communal resource and B) deserves midge hell.

You need the third factor for the allergy to kick in. Midge bites + bee stings are "fine" until you get something else (ants/adders/nettle). Therefore I don't get it why if you are a beekeeper you have to avoid bees when under midge bites.

The issue here is bee + midge&leech. As a newbie trying to get bees you basically get locked out of swamps. bee + midge/nettle is also an issue, which can lock you out of half your string and your ability to make clothes.

It's only an issue for beginners, later on you can horse around swamps so not doing them for a bit isn't an issue since you're so much more productive. And you'll have leather to make gloves for nettle picking.

If you have unintended leech burns you deserve the allergy tbh. You can make a tea between when you get a leach on you and first bite.
