I did a quest yesterday, and It relieved my stomach by 50%, but it took me half an hour of boring walking in a straight line. Quests being OP and kinda boring was discussed many times, so lets jump straight to the suggestion.
Instead of plain LP and hunger gain, replace them with (ib4 Granger supports the idea) Buffs. Instead of +50k LP give me a buff that lasts an in-game week and gives me +5% LP from curiosities. It's still an LP reward, I'll still want to do quests because it speeds up my character progression, but here's the kicker - multiple quests stack up the time: two weeks, three weeks etc. So I don't need to do quests 24/7 to keep up with stats. It's totally fine to do couple of quests and be set for next few RL days. And that can be finely tuned - CHA can extend the duration of said buffs, maybe every 100 points may give another 1% of LP gain reward, but as a constant bonus rounded down so it scales with character progression.
And smae appleis to hunger - instead of plain 50% stomach, give me a lasting buff that makes food 5% less satiating, or 5% more effective, or both as a different kind of reward - and scale time of buff with CHA.
Pros:
- Scales with game progression as it's %-based
- No need to quest 24/7, few quests per couple of days are fine
- Quests are still relevant, doesn't remove LP and Hunger bonuses.
Cons:
- Might be problematic to scale in late game, i.e. insane CHA gives you RL month of LP/Hunger gain and you don't need more quests for long time. But maybe that's OK?
