I think the game would improve by a large amount if soil stockpiles were several times larger. No one enjoys moving carts full of wheelbarrows full of tiny dirt stockpiles for hours on end just because the survey can only teleport the dirt 31 tiles away.

Stockpiles shouldn't always be better than using proper cabinets/chests. Sometimes they're there for convenience of use (nugget/bar stockpiles for mining/smithing areas are a good example).
