Allow us to Put stockpiles in things

Postby Vassteel » Sun Feb 24, 2019 3:51 am

Plain and simple

A wheelbarrow should not ( NOT ) be required if you want to place a stockpile inside of a Cart, Knarr, Wagon or anything with a liftable inventory slot

A wheelbarrow Should be required only for placing or removing a stockpile from an object with a liftable inventory slot.

I live on an island. If i plan on trading stockpiles of things i also need to plan on having a more wheelbarrows that one person should ever need.
its really flat on my island i kninda like it that way but i also kinda want to make my own volcano so i would like to be able to trade people for the dirt stockpiles they dont want. but currently i cant do this because the only way to get a stockpile into a knarr is to have it in a wheelbarrow and this is absolutely unacceptable.

it "should" work. take wheelbarow load a stockpile push it over to a cart wagon whatever and unload it and vise versa if you want to unload said object.

This... Makes sense.

I would not mind, and I would guess it would put more importance on a shed, since you could put more stockpiles in a smaller space perhaps?

99% sure this has come up and jorb has rather specifically said no.

It's a bit silly but the wheelbarrow thing works pretty well, I'm content with this mechanic.

I'm not sure it was an emphatic no, but more a "no, the tech doesn't allow for it, and not willing to do it at this time." I'd have to look it up, but it definitely has come up at least one other time, and recently, too.

Maybe new ships (barges) that can transport stockpiles?

just a quick comment on this, you can also use stone for filling surveys. can't think of anything better to do with slag than build a volcano tbh. :)

Feather trinkets for days. Good if you live near grasslands in the early-ish days at least.

i really dont even want to think of the assoicated costs in time and materials needed to build enough wheelbarrows to fill a knarr then have to load n lift each one into the knarr vs just dumping it in.

i cant believe im going to say this but Grangers solution is pretty good "Barrel Everything" would be an acceptable solution to allowing stockpiles without wheelbarrows in carts knarrs and wagons.
