I want my hearthling to turn his nose to the air and inform me when my neighbor has a meat pie cooking in the oven, or when a bear is spraying a tree a map tile away. Inform us of the odors mingling in the airs around us
i guess they never miss huh

This, and would give a clue as to look for something to hunt. It was a big clue when tracking game, be it hunting bear or a pie to steal from the window sill.
