Saw Mill

Postby Ferinex » Tue Feb 26, 2019 4:28 am

We have wind power, and seemingly plugable machinery. I want to feed logs into a mill and get boards, so we can scale barrel production. Pls

Windmills need way more uses (Automated press, sawmill, other building that makes blocks instead, maybe an automated churn too?" so yes please. +1
Total misplay.

wind powered sawmills were 100% a thing. some are still standing and functional to this day. although they arent used for comertial production its more of a historical thing.

Good idea.
But how would quality be determined?
Maybe from the saw blade that is made from metal. It would get wear over time and would have to be replaced.
Sawmill could also be really fast and give more boards than normal saw.

more boards, less quality

if you need good quality, you always should work with your hands

Mechanical mineshaft elevator too, for raising/lowering wagons or multiple stockpiles across z-levels.

Maybe boards made with sawmill could just be the quality of the log used.
With good saw and by hand you could make higher quality boards.
