Runestones shouldnt decay

They are messages written literally in stone for generations to come. Its stupid that they decay quite fast. They shouldn't.

Agreed. I was on a tour of the Southwestern United States a few years ago and saw petroglyphs carved in the rocks from around 600 to 2000 years ago (estimated). https://www.nps.gov/pefo/learn/historyc ... r-rock.htm

Realism aside, I find it very important to discover the wisdom of hearthlings past. Such bold, beautiful sentences as "ur gey" and "сука блять"

Sometimes you find heartsecrets from ages past and realise that the people are still playing. I had that experience when I found F&I leader's hs in one random decayed hermitage. Would the runestone decay faster than the claim and hermitage's walls I'd never find it.

I agree! This kind of cultural heritage shouldn't be affected by decay so easily!

Hearthlings liberal burning of wood has created acidic rain that wears away the stones.

B-but is it? w10 was normal and suddenly bam w11 oceans, and no hearthling has ever ventured to a place where raising crops is impossible due to too cold weather... In fact, do we even have rain? Ergo, runestones shouldn't decay.
