global pool is a bad idea and here's why.

Sorry to be a bringer of bad news, but it indeed does.

Pools make no sense, just remove them.

Which is better?

1. Botters have all pearls etc. Others have none
2. Botters have some pearls, others have some

THERE IS NO POINT IN HAVING PEARLS "valuable" and "rare" IF NO ORDINARY PERSON CAN ACQUIRE THEM

Purely a dev idea on how to bring some balance to the curios 30% of the players were studying 100% of the time. 30% is probably very generous, too; quite possibly less than 10%.

Hmm... What if there was a wound (really a debuff would be better, but you work with what you got) called "Deep Thinking" where after studying a curio like that it gives -int for each time you study it. Have it go away after 48 hours or so naturally. If people want to spam study it, keep have it raising how much you lose. Essentially if you study it too much you end up gimping your character's learning ability for a few days.

What's problem with making at least one bot for each local pool and running them concurrently on your own machine 24/7?

People not running bots aren't affected in their own pools.

Isn't that basically the same idea as the "fated curios" was? Except you didn't dare pick an uncommon snapdragon if you wanted to get a chiming bluebell when it should have popped up.

I'm thinking "fated curios" might not have been the worst implementation, it just wasn't done right to balance it for the player's wants.

Best solution IMO: nerf the ones that get near 100% use, but what does the rest of the game industry know? :P One of the things I like about Haven development is that things are done differently than "the norm," but it can be one big spot of frustration and irritation at times, too.

I like the idea of migrating local pools, but I feel like that would be hard on Loftar to do.

I've been able to get a few flots and pearls but far less than I was getting before, and the only reason I've ever even studied a Glimmer this world is one was given to me in a trade.
