This.
Foraging is so nerfed.
Garden pots easy to bot.

Idk. I think it's somewhat inconsequential for most things, so it might perhaps just as well be a fixed spawnrate. The monster idea could be fun.

Make them different depending on the area. I even have a proposal how to name the one which spawns in swamps, but I am afraid to tell it because he is a mod on this forums...

Super midges with super bite that cannot be healed! Also cannot be targeted.

The swamp monster could live with one.

Honestly I'm going to disagree that this system is inconsequential. I remember W5 forage bots, big factions didn't give a crap if you had flotsam or whatever it was meaningless to them because they had cupboards worth sitting around.

Maybe the global pool should become a local pool instead? Have it so each X by X area of the world spawns Y number of forageables per day scaled to world population. At least that way everyone gets a fair share and bots only deplete the area they're in?

I don't really know, I know the current system is lackluster in part because some of the global curios are kinda meh (lookin' at you bolete) when foraged.

Number of problems:
- mobs can be lured away
- mob doesn't despawn

Also not sure if it really wouldn't affect hermits. Popular trading spots easy to get griefed? I really don't feel it.

fairly easy solutions tbh.

- make the mobs patrol the area the players have patrolled the most ( if it gets lured away it will reset its path in a few minutes and get back to patrolling)
- make it so the mobs can destroy anything in its path with less soak than a pali (even unsoaked palisades)
- let the animal rawhide people on horses to prevent cheesing
- if the animal was spawned in and someone walks in to its vicinity (lets say walks in to a cave) an experience will pop up warning the player to prevent hermits from getting hurt

i was mostly talking about areas like swamps and caves getting heavily botted and farmed.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.
