we already have more than enough copy/pasted food with FEP values clearly chosen at complete random cuz theres too many to spend time on balance.

We have enough useless crops already. I dont think its a worthy addition, at least with current food system.

make it grow on a trellis and be a replacement for meat in most recipes (not sausage)

I'm all for it. How many eggs do you think is fair to collect per plant each harvest? I got lots of recipes that need eggs.
