Moonmoth silk

It would be neat if leaving a moonmoth in a cupboard with a silkmoth would create a special sterile hybrid species that could be used to make a new silk type. Moonsilk sounds pretty cool, and we could use it to introduce silver into fabric colours. In order to make it you'd have to keep collecting moonmoths, which would keep the supply rather low.

I tried breeding them to see if I could get anything interesting, doesn't seem like they do in any of the ways I could test.

I looking up a reference image to troll people with but now I'm mildly traumatized. I'll just leave that one hidden on google.

Does it have anything to do with insects copulating? Can't be any worse than mantises or widows. Now there is something traumatizing.

Would be interesting, but until there are some good ideas for practical use, other than normal silk, I'm indifferent. Would it be that much harder to produce? Special crafts?

Considering each thread would require 1-2 foraged moonmoths, it would be marginally harder to produce if not insanely so. My honest motivation was the idea of adding silver cloth to the colour palette, but there's no reason why special crafts or curious couldn't be made for it.

That alone would be good enough.

If it's going to be hard to produce, i would hope there'd be something a little extra for the effort.
